eNASCAR College iRacing Series powered by NACE Starleague Race Preview: Playfly Sports 60 at Daytona

February 23rd, 2022 by

The first of three rounds in the spring edition of the eNASCAR College iRacing Series powered by NACE Starleague sends the top collegiate sim racers in North America to the high banks of Daytona International Speedway to claim their share of a $50,000 scholarship pool for 2022. The Playfly Sports 60 kicks off on Thursday at 8PM ET, with live coverage of the action at eNASCAR.com/live.

With more than two weeks to turn their fastest lap, more than 260 drivers representing over 190 unique colleges and universities did battle on the charts to whittle down the competing list to 40 schools. Spanning the entire continental United States from Maine to California and reaching into Canada, the entry list for the opening round represents some of the top developing talent on iRacing.

They’ll take the wheel of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado, and Toyota Tundra for 60 laps at Daytona, with a scholarship split of $3,000 to the winner, $1,500 to second place, and $500 to third. It’s the same combination that kicked off the first rung of the eNASCAR Road to Pro ladder earlier this month, as hundreds of drivers began their quest to qualify for the 2023 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series season. As always, expect Daytona to reward drivers who can strike the right balance of patience, calculated aggression, and situational awareness in the draft no matter where they’re running.

For those who didn’t qualify for Daytona, two more opportunities to crack the field are ahead. Time trials for March 24’s 80-lap event at Charlotte Motor Speedway will run from March 7-20, while road racers can look ahead to April 10-24 to post their times in hopes of qualifying for the 30-lap race at Watkins Glen International on April 27.

The eNASCAR College iRacing Series powered by NACE Starleague is supported by SCW, Coca-Cola, Playseat, and Logitech G. For more information on the series and how to qualify, visit www.cslesports.com/enascar. For more information on iRacing and for special offers, visit www.iRacing.com.
